Bike Tour of Key West

Bring your t-shirt, shorts, sneakers and a camera . . . and take home memories! The Bike Tour of Key West takes guests into the Key West of yesteryear — the 19th Century village at the edge of the tropics.

Guests bicycle from one side of this lush, green, tropical island to the other. Bicycle along the beach; through tree-shrouded streets and shady, hidden lanes; through the "Presidential Gate" in the Old Navy Base, along the old waterfront — and into history. They will discover the Key West of the natives!...read more...

If you have never been to Key West, you should know it is as far south as you can go in the continental United States. It is at the very southern tip of Florida, at the end of a string of interconnected islands known popularly as the Keys. A series of long bridges take you from island to island right over the ocean waves. For those of you who may have a fear of heights it is nice to know that even the longest of these bridges pretty much skim along only 20 feet or so from the waters surface. The almost 100 mile drive from the Florida mainland to Key West is a pure pleasure to enjoy.

The main street in Key West, Duval Street, is only one mile long from the ocean on the Atlantic side of the island to the Mallory Square Dock on the Gulf of Mexico side. It is a street made for fun. Cafes, restaurants, gift shops, art galleries, and best of all bars and beer gardens line both sides of the street for almost it's total length. This is a place made for nightlife....read more . . .

Mallory Square
Sunset celebration in Mallory Square has been taking place every evening for decades. Over the years the multiple vendors and entertainers set up throughout Mallory Square change, but the celebration is always delightful. The southernmost bagpipe player, a tightrope walker out over the water, fire eaters, musicians, singers, escape artists chained and locked, jugglers, and amazing animals...dogs, parrots and cats -- copying their larger circus performers like fearless lions and tigers -- jumping through flaming hoops and performing amazingly as their owners shout commands.
There are also vendors selling various drinks and snacks and tables set up where you can purchase authentic Key West art, crafts, jewelry, t-shirts and more.

Key West Conch Train Tour
The Conch Train Tour has been delighting Key West visitors since the late 1950's with an informative overall tour of Key West. The open air train stops at several locations around Key West where riders can get on and off again through the day. The engineers provide a narrated tour of sights and history of Key West. Some of the more notable stops on the tour include the Ernest Hemingway House, Sloppy Joes Bary, Harrs S. Truman Little White House and Key West Aquarium.

Pepe's Cafe on Caroline Street Pepe's is the oldest restaurant in Key West - opened in 1909. There is a small air conditioned area inside with booths and tables as well as a larger outdoor patio area. Great food, reasonably priced. It is always fun to sit on the patio where eye holes are in the white wooden fence that encloses the patio -- unsuspecting tourists look through the holes not knowing there are paintings on the inside of the fence around those eye holes -- hmmmm... you will have to visit to find out what the paintings are!
